A warm welcome to SlasHer in our nox team. He is admin of a nox shard that in few days will go into beta and will join us for small scripts and some coding.
In the dev chat at wednesday evenning some other plans and changes have been decided.
First: fax will finish with frodo the race api and so will start to get introduced into nox code too. So he will increase the Dev team whenever there is need or he has time.
SlasHer will under Wintermutes advice start to look into text api that allows account/char creation from a textfile for web based char creation to bypass client default one. Originally that was stonedz task but he is ill in Belgium and we don't know how that plays off. Best wishes to you stonedz, get well soon!
Now the biggest change in nox team: wintermute will get father next year, good for him but bad for Nox. He needs private life of course so he will leave nox after stable 0.82, not in an instant thought but he will go.
Fortunatelly the binary save system for faster saves (allows big worldsaves) he will finish prior his departure. For other 0.83 planned features we will need to rediscuss after stable what we can do and what not, his knowledge and efforts will be much missed, that is for sure. :(
Of course whole team is happy for him and we wish the best for his baby. :)
Thats what is going on at the moment. I'm in final exams untill monday, after that more often news at the frontpage again, I promise.
